Enter the Tennessee Valley Fair’s 3,200+ Competitions

KNOXVILLE, TENN. (August 26, 2019) – The deadline to enter the 100th Tennessee Valley Fair’s competitions is this week. Wednesday, August 28th is the last day to register your unique skills and talents into this year’s Fair.

Each year, thousands of competitors compete in the Tennessee Valley Fair. Over 3,200 competitions are offered with a variety of departments included photography, culinary arts, STEM, and more.

New competitions are being offered this year including a Skillet Throwing Contest and Centennial Photo Contest. The Skillet Throwing Contest, presented by Smoky Mountain Antique Engines and Tractors, has contestants throwing a cast iron skillet the furthest distance. The Centennial Photo Contest asks contestants from past winning photography competitions to enter their work to be on display during the 100th Tennessee Valley Fair. Premiums, or prizes, are offered through the competitions including several scholarships. Each year, the Tennessee Valley Fair distributes over $100,000 in premiums and over half of the premiums are awarded to youth competitors.

The 100th Tennessee Valley Fair will be held September 6th – 15th, 2019 at historic Chilhowee Park.
