Celebrating Agriculture at the Tennessee Valley Fair

08/07/2025

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Celebrating Agriculture at the Tennessee Valley Fair

Knoxville, TN (August 7, 2025) – Agriculture has been at the heart of the Tennessee Valley Fair since its founding in 1916, and that tradition continues in 2025 with a wide range of educational exhibits, hands-on learning opportunities, and livestock shows designed to celebrate and promote East Tennessee’s rich agricultural heritage.

Fairgoers of all ages can experience the region’s farming legacy firsthand through a variety of interactive exhibits and events, including:

  • Ag Alley – A walk-through educational exhibit highlighting Tennessee crops, livestock, and the importance of agriculture in daily life.
  • Down on the Farm – A field trip experience for elementary-aged students featuring more than ten learning stations focused on livestock, crops, and everyday agricultural products. Registration is closed.
  • Livestock Competitions – Exhibitors from across the region showcase cattle, goats, sheep, poultry, and more, demonstrating the dedication and care that define East Tennessee’s farming community.
  • Thank-A-Farmer Day – Visitors can meet local farmers, participate in family-friendly activities, and learn about the vital role agriculture plays in our lives.

In addition to these special exhibits, visitors can enjoy “Every Day Ag” signage placed throughout the fairgrounds offering small but meaningful lessons about where food and fiber come from.

The Tennessee Valley Fair runs September 5–14, 2025, at Chilhowee Park & Exposition Center. For a full schedule of agricultural events, livestock competitions, and daily programming, visit tnvalleyfair.org.
