Location: Kerr Building
Drop-off: Tuesday, September 8 - 5:30pm-8:00pm or Wednesday, September 9 - 10:00am-6:30pm
Judging: Thursday, September 10 (Closed to the public)
Pick-up: Monday, September 21 - 10:00am-4:30pm
Rules
1. All quilts must be handiwork of exhibitor.
2. Quilts must be in excellent condition. Incomplete, torn, or soiled quilts will not be eligible for entry.
3. Quilts that have won first place previously at the Tennessee Valley Fair are not eligible to compete for premiums. Win or lose no quilt will be accepted more than two years.
4. Quilts should have the maker’s name and address on the back, permanent identification (embroidered, etc.) or have some form of identification safety pinned to the quilt. If more than one person works on the quilt, include all names.
5. All quilts must be quilted by hand, machine, or both. To be considered a “quilt”, the work should have three layers: a backing, filler, and top. Quilting is defined as a running stitch that passes through all three layers.
6. Quilts will be judged in general appearance, color, and design. The amount of quilting and the quality of the stitch: workmanship, which includes precision of piecing, neat appliqué, binding, miters, etc.
7. Bed quilts are twin, full, queen, or king size.
8. All decisions of the judges are final.

Class 2 - Celebrate America Quilt Block
Help Celebrate the 250th Birthday of the United States
1. Must be a 10" x 10" finished square
2. No border, hand or machine stitched submission
3. Must use patriotic colors and/or theme
4. All squares will be donated to the Quilts of Valor Knoxville Chapter #567. Squares will be made into a quilt and presented to a deserving veteran.
