Cotton Candy Classic 5k
Things to Do
Meet a farm! Stop by local farmers to tell them hello, ask questions about their farm, and say thank you for feeding our community! Fairgoers can also “Touch a Tractor” – take a picture with one of farming’s most legendary pieces of equipment. Saturday, Sept. 7at 1:00pm at the Livestock Barns.
Rock-It the Robot -
Standing at nine-feet tall, Rock-It the Robot is the coolest live robot you'll meet. He plays music, dances, puts on a light show, zips around on a scooter, and will talk with you! Check calendar for showtimes.
Chalk Walk at the Fair -
From Market Square all the way to the Tennessee Valley Fair the Dogwood Arts Chalk Walk is making another appearance this fall with a day-long street painting festival celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Fair! Chalk Walk will transform the sidewalks at Patriot Circle (near the Bandstand) into brilliant canvases for the region’s most talented professional and youth artists. The event will take place on Sunday, September 8th from 12PM-4PM (the Fair is open 12PM-12AM) with an awards ceremony immediately following. And don’t miss the First Tennessee Bank Fun Zone! Where children of all ages can pick up chalk and create their very own sidewalk masterpieces. Sunday, Sept. 8 at 12:00pm at Patriot Circle.
Tennessee Valley Fair Lady Pageant -
Ages 21-39. Saturday, Sept. 7 in the Pepsi Tent.
Tennessee Valley Fair Woman Pageant -
Ages 40-59. Saturday, Sept. 7 in the Pepsi Tent.
Skillet Throwing Contest -
Contestants will throw a cast-iron skillet for a chance to win a prize. Check calendar for contest times. Located behind the Jacob Building in Yesteryear Village.
Local Beer Night -
We are proud to present Local Beer Night in collaboration with Knoxville Area Brewers Association. Local brewers across the Knoxville area will serve beer from their brewery. Enjoy yard games and trivia by Knox Trivia Guys. Thursday, Sept. 12
from 5pm-8pm in the Bandstand.

Rooster Crowing Contest –
Which rooster will crow the most within 10 minutes? Find out who will be crowned Champion Crower.
LEGO Reconstruction of the Main Building –
The Main Building was built in 1910 for the Appalachian Exposition. Unfortunately, the building was burned down in 1938 but we still reminisce and honor the gorgeous building. The LEGO reconstruction will feature the impeccable architecture and will be 8 feet long. Open Daily in the Jacob Building.
Motorcycle High-Wire Thrill Show –
The Anastasini Circus will ride a motorcycle high above Lake Ottossee – on just a high-wire! Times vary each day. Check calendar for showtimes. Located over Lake Ottossee.
Art Mural by Curtis Glover –
Knoxville mural artist Curtis Glover will be creating a masterpiece the first weekend of the Fair which will be displayed all 10 days.
Centennial Photo Contest –
Past winning photographs from the photography competitions over the years will be on display. Open Daily in the Jacob Building.
Tennessee Valley Fair History Talks presented by Jack Neely and the Knoxville History Project –
Jack Neely will be talking about the Tennessee Valley Fair’s long history. Saturday, Sept. 7
at 4:00pm in the Bandstand.
Yesteryear Village –
Agriculture and rural life will be exhibited in Yesteryear Village including blacksmithing, steam engines, cut-off saw, gas engines, antique tractors, corn shelling by hand, gristmill, and a wheat threshing machine! Open Daily behind the Jacob Building.
Fair History Exhibit –
The exhibit will feature photographs, memorabilia and more form the past 100 years. Open Daily in the Jacob Building.
Paddle Boats –
The legendary paddle boats are back! Ride them along Lake Ottossee for a great view of the Fair. Open Daily on Lake Ottossee.
Money Pole –
Another attraction brought back for the 100
. Competitors climb a giant pole to grab the money tucked high on the tip top. Check calendar for showtimes. Located behind Marvelous Mutts.
