Down on the Farm
Tuesday, September 11, 2012
Every fall, more than 1,500 East Tennessee students experience the sights, sounds, tastes and smells of farming at the Tennessee Valley Fair's Down on the Farm.
The Tennessee Valley Fair is pleased to offer this educational field trip to all East Tennessee Schools, grades K-5, on Tuesday, September 11, 2012
Down on the Farm is an interactive, hands-on educational event. It features several 5-10 minute demonstrations aimed at familiarizing students with: Horses, Poultry, Sheep/Wool, Beef Cattle, Rabbits, Dairy Cattle, Goats, Crops/Vegetables, Tractors and Cow Milking. These demonstrations will be presented by the outstanding members of 4-H and local educators. The goal is to acquaint students with agriculture and illustrate how it plays an active role in our daily lives.
We are pleased to offer Down on the Farm as a FREE event to East Tennessee students. All parking, gate admission, and Down on the Farm entry is offered at no charge to schools, students or accompanying faculty.
